Book Scanner A3+ (1200 dpi)

During the digitization of valuable archival material, documents are often detected, which exceed the specifications of document scanners while at the same time they necessitate delicate treatment due to their exceptional worth.

Understanding these needs, we’ve created the Atlas II Book Scanner A3+, fully equipped with a Mirrorless camera – Canon EOS R5.

The optical resolution, for A3 or 2 X A4 document, is 1,200 dpi!

  • Atlas II has a flat surface for digitizing documents up to 45 X 65 cm in size and up to 20 cm thick with 10 cm height adjustment. Documents during digitization are kept as flat as possible, without unwanted curving.
  • Resolution Selectable options: 300 dpi / 400 dpi / 600 dpi / 1.200 dpi
  • It is possible to adjust per side in height for even better digitization results
  • The glass is EXTRA CLEAR and is tempered( Securite), as it has been heated.
  • Atlas II has 2 industrial-grade mechanisms with lamination to serve the light lifting of the flat surface glass. The glass is automatically raised, Operator has simply the task to close it in order the book/document to be digitized
  • Includes a professional power supply for the camera so that it is technically feasible to operate continuously
  • As it is metal construction, there is no restriction on the weight of the books.

  • Connects to a PC via a USB-2 port or later (USB-3 recommended). From the computer, it is possible to view live with features that are analyzed below in the accompanying software.

Atlas II Book Scanner A3+ includes Atlas production software with the following Capture and editing capabilities.

  • Provides Live View with real-time autofocus adjustment capabilities. It allows automated downloading and bulk editing of right and left pages of a book. It is possible to operate with a time delay for a more productive process (e.g. every 10 seconds of shooting)

  • possible to image process each image with features such as sharpening, autolevel color, despeckle and more.
  • From the batch edit menu, it is technically possible to crop automatically, cropping with rectilinear cropping and cropping per side.
  • With the Auto Crop option, it is possible to recognize the size of the book and automatically crop it. With the crop per side option, it is possible to reduce curvature due to binding and correct trapezoidal distortion. Productively it takes more time, but the exported result tends to be an exact copy.
  • With the 6-point crop option, it is possible to quickly split by page and correct trapezoidal distortion. It is highly productive, requiring a maximum of 10 seconds per processing salon. In addition, the software saves the last 10 frames so that in some cases it is not even necessary to set the 6 points (4 corners of the pages and 2 corners of the spine)

Atlas II Book Scanner includes a Canon EOS R5 camera with an RF 24-105MM F4-7.1 IS STM lens.

    The camera’s autofocus has been programmed using specialized artificial intelligence technology. This allows the EOS R5 to recognise and track the pages of books to be digitised.
